Sustainable fabric – no nasties
We know sustainability is important to you; it’s important to us, too. That’s why after extensive research into fabric options, I decided that Tencel™ was the best fabric for our t-shirts.
Tencel™ fibres are extracted from the wood pulp of trees that are grown and replaced on sustainably managed forests. Tencel is produced in an environmentally responsible closed-loop production process using a non-toxic organic solvent. The resulting flexible fibre is renowned for its exceptional softness.
Owing to the fibre’s sleek cross-section, Tencel™ fibres enhance the soft touch of fabrics even after repeated washing. The softness of Tencel™ lasts longer and can withstand repeated wash and dry cycles compared to cotton, as well as being twice as soft.
Because they’re composed of natural material, Tencel™ fibres are biodegradable and compostable, so they can fully revert to nature at the end of their lifecycle. This means our Feed Me Mother t-shirts are not only kind to your skin and your baby’s, but to the environment as well.
Safe for your skin
All our fabrics are certified according to Standard 100 by Oeko-tex ®, which means that they have been tested for hazardous and illegal substances. This guarantees our clothes can be worn safely against your skin. No worries for you, or baby.
Proudly made in Ireland
We’ll say it LOUD and PROUD – our first Feed Me Mother collection was lovingly made here in Dublin by Alan Scott Manufacturing. As a complete fashion industry novice, it was amazing to collaborate with someone as experienced as Alan, who has worked with John Rocha and Louise Kennedy to name but a few.
Our first collection of Feed Me Mother t-shirts all have ‘Made in Ireland’ labels which really makes my heart sing.
There you have it – local, sustainable, and gorgeous.
